October 2013 Month in Review for Part-Time-Commander.com

I figured that starting this month I would start doing one post a month to share what is new at Part-Time-Commander.com, what we accomplished for the previous month and what we have planned for the month ahead.  I’ve been tracking these key metrics on a monthly basis since I first launched the website back in 2009, but I’ve never shared them with anyone except my wife and business mentors.

Assuming you visit my website on a frequent basis, I thought you might enjoy reading this post and getting a closer look at Part-Time-Commander.com from the inside-out, rather than from the outside-in.

Other Highlights

I also changed some of the formatting around on our website to make it look better and easier to navigate.  I got rid of some of the old, unused buttons that people didn’t use much.  We also hit our 700th published post and had our first post from Colonel Smith.

What We Have Planned for November 2013

November 2013 should be an exciting month.  Here’s what I have planned right now.

  • I will send my email newsletter on the first Thursday of the month
  • Send Weekly Battle Update Every Tuesday
  • Publish 28 blog posts, which includes 3 mega posts of 2,000+ words
  • Get to 4500 published comments
  • Add 50 videos to our YouTube Channel
  • Update/rewrite 20 old articles
  • Finish and Publish The Ultimate Captain’s Career Course audio training program

Personal Life Update

October was a great month for me.  I dressed up as the Lone Ranger for Halloween (that’s me on the left).  I also started a new class at my local community college.  The class is called Microcomputer Applications. I’m learning lots of neat things about PowerPoint and MS Word that I never knew about.  I’m also working toward completing my eBusiness and Technology degree to sharpen my skills and help me improve my business.  The weather is starting to cool off a bit here and I’m really excited to see my son at Thanksgiving.

Your Input

I’m always looking for ways to improve my website and better serve your needs.  What would like to see us do in November 2013?  If you have some topics you would like us to write about or you can think of anyway we can improve our website, just contact me and let me know.

Final Thoughts

Thanks for reading the first ever month in review for Part-Time-Commander.com.  In the future we will post this on the first or second day of each month to keep you updated about how things are going.  Thanks for visiting my website. Without you I wouldn’t have a business.

  1. I must say I have enjoyed very much the posts on your website. Though I am not a soldier, nor have I served I am very much a patriot. And having grown up on military bases with family and friends who serve, your site offers some great tips for building a successful military career from all angles. There are also so great insight into things that translate to the civilian world such as substance abuse, suicide, and being a good leader. I will be promoting your site on my FB page to my 400 + friends, most are ex-Brats and have chosen to serve themselves or married servicemen and women. Some have also raised and groomed their children to enter service in one for or another.

  2. This was a very interesting post.

For others who are starting their own website or blog, they could learn a lot from this.

As a person who owns two websites that have several subdomains running off them, I believe I can give a honest review of yours.

I believe it is a very easy to read website with interesting blog posts. It is not overwhelmed with advertising. I do believe maybe a picture gallery would be a cool item to add. Maybe you could have members send in photos of their experiences in the military, or old pics of family members who served. Even a contest or two.

0-10 on a scale Chuck, your blog, in my opinion gets an 8+. Keep it up my friend!
