Does the Army have Direct Commission for Warrant Officers in Medical Technical field?
I’m not sure. Maybe someone else can chime in here and help.
There was at one time, selection made by an AMEDD board, from applicants working in the field. They were sworn in and assigned to a MEDDAC, MEDCEN, or Med Depot as Medical Maintenance Branch Chiefs. Such as was my appointment in 1973. Sometime later we were required to attend a Warrant Officer Orientation Course at Ft Sill, OK for 2 weeks.
Nowadays selectees attend the WOC, the Warrant Officer Candidate Course at Ft Rucker? before bring pinned. Those days are the only ones where they will ever wear the old “Ascending Eagle” Warrant Officer Branch pin, abandoned in 2004. Warrants now wear the colors and Branch emblems of the branch to which they are assigned.
Hi all. I’m actually a Navy biomed instructor currently in the DoD school house and I will be applying for the 670a board this next coming cycle. I’ve talking to my Army counterparts and I’m trying to figure how different that Army is from the Navy. Also trying to find out the amount responsibilities you would have as a Warrant Officer verses the enlisted folks.
I am following your website regularly and it helps me a lot. My cousin is preparing for Army Warrant Officer so I suggest her your website few weeks ago and she told me that this website was very helpful to her with new updates and her preparation.
Tell her good luck!
You sure know your stuff! I just saw that you have an ebook when reading the bottom little portion of this post. How cool! I will have to remember to check it out when I finish reading my current book.
