Company Commanders are ultimately responsible for everything that does or does not happen in their unit.  Listed below are some of the more common company commander duties (in no particular order).

Keep in mind this is not an "ends-all" list for Company Commander duties.  It evolves and varies based upon your Battalion Commander, your mission and your NCO support channel.

Mission Planning: As the Company Commander, you write the OPORDs and plan all future missions.  This is one of your most important Company Commander duties.

Collective Training: It's your job to plan, resource and assess collective training.  Collective training is training at the squad level and higher.

Property Accountability: You are the primary hand receipt holder.  You must ensure all equipment is maintained and accounted for at all times.

Pay: You sign the Form 1379 each IDT weekend.  Make sure it is accurate.

Morale: The Company Commander has a direct impact on unit Soldier morale.  Enforce the Army standards and lead by example at all times.  This well help improve morale.

Unit Readiness:  Simply put, your most important Company Commander duties is to make sure your Soldiers and equipment is prepared for war.  This is also known as unit readiness.  This includes equipment, training and personnel readiness.  Monitor these elements every month.  Track your progress and keep current assessments.

Physical Fitness: It's your job to ensure soldiers take the APFT once per year (for M-Day soldiers).  Make sure the APFT is done to standard.  Your biggest challenge is trying to get M-Day Soldiers to do PT on their own, outside of drill weekend.  Lead by example by passing your APFT and HT/WT.  And, always take your APFT in front of your troops.

Discipline: Make on the spot corrections.  Always enforce the standard.  Soldiers like and need discipline.  Hold yourself, your subordinate leaders and NCOs accountable for everything they or do not do.

Senior Tactician: The Company Commander is the senior tactician.  He or she must be tactically proficient.  You must understand battle focused training and must be able to effectively lead your Soldiers in combat.

Role Model: The Company Commander is a role model at all times.  People are always watching you.  Even when you think they aren't, they are.  Be aware at all times.

The Mission: Your job is to make sure the mission gets done.  Whether your mission is to clean the armory or to fight in combat, completing your mission is your top priority.  That doesn't mean you do it yourself.  It just means you ensure it gets done.

Decision Maker: As the Company Commander, you are the decision maker.  95% of your decisions are easy to make.  You make the "big bucks" from the other 5%.  These are the tough decisions.  Collect the facts, seek input, and make an informed decision.  Don't be wishy-washy or indecisive.

Operational Readiness: It's your job to ensure your equipment is working and operational.  This includes scheduled maintenance and services.  You should know the status of your equipment at all times.

As you can probably tell, there are many different Company Commander duties.  Although it is a tough job, it's very fun and rewarding too.  I hope you are up for the challenge.
